Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) is another specie within STC's product base.
This specie is mainly located in the southern part of
the Southeast Alaska region. It is commonly used in the exterior home
building business. It is extremely light in weight relative to its size
and has a natural oil which serves to protect it from natural decay. Its
wide array of beautiful colors appeal to the eye and its natural ordor serves as
a repellent to both insects and moths. Fencing products are a common
product for this specie and exterior siding is also very popular.
